How it works

You describe the job.
We do the rest of it.

Finding contractors, chasing them for a callback, getting them to show up, then trying to work out why three prices for the same job are three different numbers — that's the part we take off your hands.

Check coverage first

We work anywhere in the United States, but coverage isn't uniform. Whether we can help depends on how many contractors do your trade near you. Enter your zip code and project type and you'll have an answer in about a minute.

Five stages, and you're only in two of them

You do the first one and read the last one. Everything between is ours, and it's the part that normally collapses when a homeowner tries to do it alone around a job and a family.

You're in two of the five stages

The dashed boundary is the part we handle. You're only inside it at the start and the end.

Intake

You do thisA few minutes online. What needs doing, where, roughly when, and anything we should know. You can attach photos of the job — optional, and they help contractors scope it before they visit. Photos help, no account required.

Why it mattersEverything downstream compares against this. A scope written once, properly, is what makes three bids comparable later.

12

Matching and screening

We do thisYour project goes to contractors who actually do that trade in your area, with a real business phone and email confirmed before anyone is contacted.

Why it mattersNobody buys their way onto your list. There is no placement to purchase, at any price.

14

Scheduling

We do thisYou give us two-hour windows that work. Contractors claim the ones they can make, instantly, without calling you.

Why it mattersPhone tag is where most people give up and settle for one quote. Removing it is most of the job.

16

Quote collection

We do thisAfter each visit we follow up until the written quote actually arrives, or until it's clear it isn't coming.

Why it mattersThe most common reason a homeowner ends up with one bid instead of three is that nobody chased the other two.

18

Analysis

You get thisEvery quote read against the same checklist: what's covered, what's missing, how allowances are written, whether the scopes actually match.

Why it mattersThree numbers mean nothing until you know they're for the same job. Usually they aren't.

Stages 12 through 18 run whether or not you do anything. The outreach is what we guarantee, and you’ll see exactly how many contractors it covers before you decide. How many of them reply, visit and quote is up to them, and we'll tell you honestly where it lands.

What you actually end up with

Not a list of phone numbers. Not a lead handed to whoever paid the most this month.

Quotes arrive as they come in rather than all at once, so you can start reading before the last contractor has been out.

  • Every quote we could get, written against one defined scope
  • A side-by-side breakdown of what each one covers
  • The specific gaps — what one bid includes that another quietly doesn't
  • Allowances flagged, because an allowance is a blank cheque
  • What each contractor told us about licence and insurance, on the record
  • The questions worth asking before you sign anything
  • No obligation to hire any of them

What we guarantee, precisely

We guarantee the outreach, not the replies. You'll see exactly how many contractors we'll contact before you decide. That's the thing we control, so that's the thing we'll put in writing.

Nobody can make a contractor pick up the phone in August, and any service that promises you three quotes is quietly hoping you don't notice when it delivers one. If we fall short of the outreach count, we refund you in full, and you don't have to ask.

Timing, honestly

Most projects wrap up within about three weeks. We don't promise a date, because the variable is contractor availability rather than us — a roof in October moves slower than a water heater in March.

If a project hasn't come together after six weeks we close it out and tell you where it got to, rather than leaving it open indefinitely.

What we cover

Most residential trades — roofing, siding, windows, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and the rest of the work an ordinary house eventually needs. Rather than maintain a list here that goes stale, we check your specific project against your specific zip code.

Sometimes the answer is no. There are trades and places where we can't reach enough contractors to be worth your time, and we'd rather say so in the first minute than take on the job and hope.

Start with the basics. Takes a few minutes.
